I like my CD collection. It's bigger and more diverse than most peoples. It shows I'm a bigger music fan than you (probably), even though I don't listen to a lot of the stuff anymore... it all adds to the numbers, and the number of CD's I own can only add the essence that is the self. I am the things I own..
I like my cell phone. It flips open and has a little keyboard. It's fun to play games in the bathroom at work and show it off to people so they know... I am with it, I can send text messages faster than you. I am special. I am a god among men.
I love my computer. It has a trendy abstract 3D background, and sometimes I play with Linux so people think I'm too advanced for windows. Maybe you haven't heard of Linux... good! My computer allows me to have all sorts of friends I have never met; friends that sometimes seem closer than real people. I can show people the dimensions of myself I choose, cut away the rotten parts of the apple, so I can be such a desirable IM buddy. My computer makes me popular and socially fulfilled.
I like my hair. Sometimes people think I'm a chick from the back... but that’s okay, because I look like a rock star and it hides the fact I'm just a looser like the rest of you. I just had more patience, or maybe I was just too lazy, to get it cut in years. None the less, I am a unique snowflake because of my hair.
I like my blog. It gives me a place to show the world what’s on my mind. Even though the world doesn't care what’s on my mind. We just become addicted to the drug that is people seeming interested in our mindless drivel, the attention, and making our self induced fish-bowl lives seem important. But never mind that, my blog and arbitrary personality quizzes give me character... This makes people know that I am Adam, and I am a cool guy you should be so lucky to have a reply comment from!
Strip it all away and I am blissful, euphoric, whole and complete nothingness. It's so hard to strip it all away though, the ego does not die without a fight. But alas, I do have my Dalai Lama audio books, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra as my bible, which means I will reach enlightenment and become the ever elusive uber-man that our god-slayer savior Frederick Neitschie spoke of!
